One Base Media review, the Essex trades website agency compared with Growth Bull, Growth Bull blog

One Base Media is a web and marketing agency in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex, that works only with UK trades. It builds websites, runs local SEO and Google Ads, and claims to have built more than 1,000 websites since 2012. It does not publish prices. On Trustpilot it has 16 reviews at 4.3, and its site shows a 4.9 Google rating.

Growth Bull is not an agency. It is £69 a month of software that gets Google reviews from every paid invoice and shows where you rank. This review is for the roofer, landscaper or plumber deciding whether the next spend is a new website or the reviews that make the current one convert.

Who are One Base Media and what do they sell?

One Base Media Limited (company number 09758203) was incorporated on 2 September 2015, is registered at 67 Elm Road in Leigh-on-Sea and is active. Its director is Marlon Ryder, appointed at incorporation and described on the about page as leading the agency with a focus on enquiries rather than vanity metrics. The site says the business has been building trade websites since 2012 and has an office at 22/24 Elm Road, Leigh-on-Sea, with a team of eight: content, project management, lead generation, business development, development, SEO and video.

What a tradesperson buys is a built-and-run web presence:

  • Website design and development for trades and construction firms, with a four to six working day turnaround claimed, and all work done by an in-house UK team.
  • Local SEO to get the site ranking in its area, and Google Ads management for paid enquiries.
  • Branding and video, including client case-study videos for social media.

The site's results are its own figures: a 340 percent rise in enquiries for a paving and groundworks firm, a 190 percent rise in bookings for a fitted wardrobe company, and number one Google rankings for a skip hire firm and a London roofer. It carries Google Partner accreditation and several Prestige Awards.

What does One Base Media cost and what is the commitment?

One Base Media does not publish prices for websites, SEO or ads management, and does not state contract terms. The route is an enquiry and a quote. We treat both as not published.

In our view that is normal for a web agency, where every build is different, but it means the comparison with a fixed monthly tool has to be done on the call. Ask for the build price, the monthly SEO or ads fee, the minimum term and who owns the website and the domain if you leave.

What do customers say about One Base Media?

One Base Media has 16 reviews on Trustpilot with a TrustScore of 4.3: 94 percent five-star and 6 percent one-star. One reads "Best website designers out there!" (Mitchell Boot, Trustpilot, February 2025). The single critical review, from January 2025, was about missed phone calls, and the company replied to it.

Trustpilot notes the company has not recently invited reviews, so the sample is small. The site shows a 4.9 Google rating. We could not retrieve the Google review count from public pages, so it is not published here; ask the agency for client references in your trade.

Who does One Base Media suit?

One Base Media suits a trades business whose website is old, slow or missing, that wants it built and ranked by people who only do trades and can show a long portfolio of similar sites. For a firm selling larger jobs, where the website is where the homeowner decides, that is a sensible purchase, and a trades-only agency will know the pages your customers expect.

It suits a sole trader with a decent site and a quiet phone less well. The site is rarely the reason the phone is quiet; the Google Business Profile and its reviews usually are, and an agency build does not change those.

Where Growth Bull fits instead

Growth Bull works on what the website cannot. Growth Bull's Review Builder connects to Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, FreeAgent, HubSpot or Pipedrive and sends one text and one email asking for a Google review after every paid invoice. More Google reviews lift you in the map pack (the box of three businesses with a map at the top of Google), which sits above every website in the results, and they are what a homeowner reads before clicking through to any site at all. It is £69 a month, with a 7-day free trial and no contract.

Complete Growth at £129 a month adds Rank Map, which scans a grid of points around your town and names who holds number one for your trade; Keyword Tracker, which follows your search positions, which is also a fair way to check what an SEO agency is delivering; and AI Visibility, which asks ChatGPT, Claude and Google's AI who they recommend in your town and shows whether you are named.

Growth Bull does not build websites. If you need one, an agency is the right purchase and One Base Media is an established trades specialist, and the two run well together: the agency for the site, the tool for the reviews and the proof.

Verdict

In our view, One Base Media is a credible trades web agency with a long portfolio and a small but clean public record. The gaps are the usual ones for an agency: no published prices and no stated terms, so get both in writing along with who owns the site.

If your website is fine and the reviews are the gap, Growth Bull's Review Builder is £69 a month with a 7-day free trial at growthbull.io/signup, or book a call with Tom.

Questions people ask

How much does One Base Media cost?

One Base Media does not publish prices for its websites, SEO or Google Ads management. Its site asks you to get in touch for a quote, and says a website build takes four to six working days. We treat the price and any contract term as not published (checked October 2026).

Is One Base Media any good?

Its public record is small but positive: 16 Trustpilot reviews at 4.3, 94 percent five-star, and a 4.9 Google rating shown on its site. The agency has been trading since 2015 as a limited company and says it has been building trade websites since 2012, with more than 1,000 built. Trustpilot notes it has not recently invited reviews, so ask for two or three client references in your trade.

Who runs One Base Media?

One Base Media Limited, company number 09758203, was incorporated on 2 September 2015 and is registered at Elm Road in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex. Its director is Marlon Ryder, who the about page lists as leading the agency. The site names a team of eight covering content, project management, lead generation, development, SEO and video.

What does One Base Media do?

It builds websites for UK trades and construction firms, runs local SEO and Google Ads for them, and offers branding and video. Its site claims results such as a 340 percent rise in enquiries for a paving company and a 190 percent rise in bookings for a wardrobe fitter; those are the agency's own figures.

Does One Base Media get Google reviews?

Its services are websites, SEO, ads and branding. Nothing on its site describes a review request triggered by each paid job. That is what Growth Bull's Review Builder does, from your accounting or CRM software, and it works alongside any agency-built website.

What is a cheaper alternative to One Base Media?

If your website is fine and the gap is reviews and rankings, Growth Bull's Review Builder is £69 a month with a 7-day free trial and no contract, and Complete Growth at £129 a month adds map, keyword and AI visibility tracking. If you need a website built, an agency is the right purchase and the tool runs alongside it.
