Growth Bull vs Local Falcon, local rank tracking compared, Growth Bull blog

Growth Bull is the better choice for a local business that wants to see its map position and grow it, while Local Falcon is the specialist pick for very large custom grids and Apple Maps. Growth Bull's Rank Map is a flat $39 a month with no credits, and Complete Growth, the all-in-one plan, adds Review Builder, Keyword Tracker and AI Visibility for $169 a month. Local Falcon starts at around $24.99 a month (checked October 2026) on credits.

Growth Bull is an all-in-one business growth suite built specifically for local businesses, such as contractors, home service companies, salons, clinics and other service businesses. Its flagship tool, Review Builder, gets real Google reviews automatically after every paid invoice, and the rest of the suite tracks how that growth shows up on Google Maps, in Google search and in AI answers.

If you're weighing up more than these two, our guide to the best local rank tracking tools in 2026 compares them side by side. For a cheaper grid-only option, see Growth Bull vs Whitespark Local Ranking Grids.

Written by Tom Riley, founder of Growth Bull. We've tried to be fair: where Local Falcon is the better choice, we say so. Prices checked 1 October 2026.

A quick bit of jargon first. The "map pack" is the box of three businesses with a map at the top of Google when someone searches "plumber near me" or "hair salon near me". A "geo-grid" (or rank grid) is a map dotted with points, each showing where your business ranks if someone searched from that exact spot.

The short answer

Growth Bull vs Local Falcon

Growth Bull is the better all-in-one choice for a local business, because Rank Map sits alongside Review Builder, daily keyword tracking and commercial AI visibility tracking in one hub, so you can measure your map position and grow it; Local Falcon is the specialist pick for very large custom grids and Apple Maps.

What is Growth Bull?

Growth Bull is an all-in-one business growth suite for local businesses such as contractors and home service companies (plumbers, electricians, roofers, HVAC, builders, landscapers, cleaners), plus salons, barbers, dentists, clinics, accountants, attorneys, real estate agents, mechanics and cafes, and the agencies that serve them. National and multi-location brands are a fit too.

The suite, in order:

  1. Review Builder, Growth Bull's flagship review automation tool, $89 a month, sends every customer one text and one email with your Google review link after a paid invoice.
  2. Rank Map, $39 a month, is the Google Maps rank grid you'd compare with Local Falcon.
  3. Keyword Tracker, from $22 a month, checks your Google rankings every morning.
  4. AI Visibility, $43 a month, is commercial AI visibility tracking across ChatGPT, Claude and Google's AI.
  5. Social Posting with AI, opening soon: write a post once (or let Growth Bull write it) and it goes out to Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X and your Google Business Profile at natural-looking times. "Plan my month" writes a month of posts from your own details in one press, and new 5-star reviews turn into thank-you posts automatically. It will be included free with Complete Growth and switch on automatically for Complete Growth accounts.

Around those tools sit the extras that make Review Builder feel effortless: a win-back campaign that asks past customers for reviews a few a day, a private feedback link for unhappy customers (never a gate), and a text every Friday with the reviews you gained that week. Missed-call text back and quote follow-ups are coming soon.

There's no contract, you can cancel any month, and every plan has a 7-day free trial.

What is Local Falcon?

Local Falcon is a specialist map rank tracker that shows where a business appears in Google Maps and Apple Maps across a grid of points.

It runs on credits. One credit equals one grid point, so a 5x5 grid costs 25 credits. Plans start at around $24.99 a month (checked October 2026) for 7,500 credits, rising through Basic ($49.99), Pro ($99.99) and Premium ($199.99). There are no limits on keywords or locations, only on credits.

It reports metrics such as Share of Local Voice (SoLV) and runs AI visibility scans across ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Overviews, AI Mode and Grok, mapped across the grid. Its Falcon Agent can schedule Google Business Profile posts and revert edits to your listing that you didn't make.

Which tool helps you get more Google reviews?

Growth Bull helps you get more Google reviews, because Review Builder sends review requests to customers automatically, and Local Falcon does not send review requests at all.

This is the biggest difference between the two. Local Falcon can tell you a rival three miles away is outranking you. Growth Bull can tell you that, and then go and win the reviews that help close the gap.

Google says local results are based on relevance, distance and prominence, and it lists review count and rating as part of prominence. In plain English: more good reviews can help you show up more often.

Review Builder connects to Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, FreeAgent, HubSpot and Pipedrive. Two hours after each paid job, inside sending hours, the customer gets a text and an email under your business name. If nobody clicks, one reminder goes three days later, then it stops. 300 texts a month are included, anyone who has already reviewed is never asked again, and you can ask past customers too with a win-back campaign.

It stays inside Google's rules. Everyone gets the same Google link, with no star filter. That filtering is called "review gating", and Google's review policy doesn't allow it. Unhappy customers also get a private feedback link, but it's never a gate.

Local Falcon does offer automated AI review responses on Basic and above, which reply to reviews you already have. For tools that send requests, see the best review automation tools.

Why is Review Builder the big difference?

Review Builder is the feature that most separates Growth Bull from Local Falcon, and from rank trackers and reporting tools in general, because it doesn't just measure growth. It creates it.

  • Owners can see it working. New Google reviews arrive every week, and a text every Friday lists the ones you gained. A ranking chart needs explaining; a fresh review from a customer you served on Tuesday doesn't. It's the one result every customer understands.
  • More reviews mean more calls. Reviews are how customers choose who to call, and Google's own guidance lists prominence, including reviews and ratings, as a local ranking factor. So each new review works twice: it persuades the person reading it, and it helps you show up for the next search.
  • For agencies and freelancers, it's a retention tool. Clients who watch their reviews and rankings climb under your agency's name stay longer. That helps reduce churn and raise client lifetime value, because you're delivering a result the client sees every week, not just a report once a month.

Ask yourself: which would your customers notice first, a new chart or ten new Google reviews?

Which tool gives you the better map grid?

Growth Bull's Rank Map gives a busy owner the clearest weekly answer to "who's beating me?", while Local Falcon offers more grid sizes, a wider radius and Apple Maps.

Rank Map checks 49 points around your business, a 7x7 grid with points a mile apart (about six miles across), every week for the search you choose to track, with 5x5 or 9x9 optional. It shows where you're top three, where you drop out of the top 20, and names who holds number one wherever you don't. Your first scan runs while you watch, you get a few "scan now" runs each week, and every scan is kept so you can watch your top-three count climb as reviews come in.

Local Falcon offers ten grid sizes from 3x3 up to 21x21, a radius from 0.1 to 100 miles, and Apple Maps alongside Google Maps. If you need to map a whole region in fine detail, it goes deeper. If you want to understand why rankings shift street by street, our local rank tracking tools guide explains it from scratch.

How do credits compare with a flat price?

Growth Bull's Rank Map is a flat $39 a month with no credits to manage, while Local Falcon charges credits for each grid point.

Credits are a fair system for people tracking lots of searches. But they can trip up a busy owner who runs a few big grids and runs out mid-month. On Local Falcon, plan credits expire monthly, while pay-as-you-go credits ($0.05 each) never expire.

One keyword, 7x7, weekly Growth Bull Rank Map Local Falcon Starter
Monthly price $39/mo $24.99/mo
Credits used None, flat price About 212 a month
Names who holds #1 Yes, at every point you aren't top Shows competitors outranking you
Unused allowance Nothing to expire Plan credits expire monthly
Comes with review automation Yes, in Complete Growth No

Prices per month, checked October 2026.

If you track dozens of searches on a grid, Local Falcon's credit pool goes a long way: around 35 weekly 7x7 keywords fit in Starter. Rank Map is built around the search you pick, like "plumber" or "dentist", at a price that never changes.

How do they compare on AI visibility?

Growth Bull's AI Visibility is commercial AI visibility tracking: it asks ChatGPT, Claude and Google's AI the buying questions customers actually ask, from your own town, while Local Falcon maps AI scans across its grid.

AI visibility means whether AI assistants recommend your business when someone asks, "Who's the best electrician near me?"

AI Visibility asks five of those questions across three assistants every Monday, 15 answers a week. It shows whether you're recommended, whether your website is cited, and who is recommended instead, with a visibility score per assistant and every full answer kept so you can read exactly what was said.

Growth Bull keeps AI visibility simple and commercial. It tracks the buying-intent questions that bring in leads, such as "Who's the best accountant in Leeds?" or "Which roofing company should I call?", on the assistants people actually use: ChatGPT, Claude and Google's AI. It deliberately ignores lower-volume platforms such as Perplexity and Grok, so the score reflects where customers really ask, and it doesn't pad reports with vanity numbers like counts of every blog or source an AI cited.

Instead, it answers three lead-gen questions: were you recommended, was your website cited, and who was recommended instead? That ties AI visibility to leads and revenue rather than an abstract share of voice.

Local Falcon covers ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Overviews, AI Mode and Grok, mapped across the grid on all plans, so it shows how AI answers change from place to place. That breadth of engines suits teams running large prompt sets; Claude isn't in its list. Our guide to the best AI visibility tools for local businesses compares more options.

What about normal Google rankings?

Growth Bull tracks your position in Google's normal results as well as the map, while Local Falcon has no organic (blue-link) rank tracking.

Keyword Tracker checks your Google rankings every morning from your own town or nationwide, on desktop or mobile, with every result kept forever. It's $22 a month for 10 keywords, or $49 for 50, and Complete Growth includes the 50-keyword plan.

Plenty of inquiries come from the plain results under the map, not just the map pack. With Local Falcon you'd need a second tool for that.

Which is easier for a busy owner?

Growth Bull is easier for a busy owner, because it works with a flat price, a weekly scan that runs on its own and review requests that start from your invoices.

Local Falcon gives you choices: grid size, radius, credits, campaign schedules. If you enjoy that, great. If you're with customers all day, fewer decisions is a feature. With Growth Bull you're live within a minute of paying, and Review Builder sends a text every Friday showing the reviews you've gained.

What about agencies and white label?

Growth Bull is also a white label platform: agencies and freelancers run every tool for every client under their own brand, with white label reports in their logo and colors sent automatically. Local Falcon offers white label reports on its Premium plan only, at $199.99 a month (checked October 2026).

Agency option Price What each client gets
Local Falcon Premium $199.99/mo 63,150 credits for grids and AI scans, white label reports
Growth Bull Agency 5 $289/mo Review Builder, Rank Map, Keyword Tracker Plus and AI Visibility for 5 clients
Growth Bull Agency 10 $549/mo Every tool for 10 clients, 1,500 shared texts a month

Prices per month, checked October 2026.

If you sell review growth and monthly reporting to local businesses, Growth Bull covers both under your brand. There's more in our guide to white label SEO reporting tools for agencies.

Review Builder is also an agency's best retention tool. Clients who watch their reviews and rankings climb under your agency's name stay longer, which helps reduce churn and raise client lifetime value. Agency plans include up to 10 team logins and a client switcher, and win-back campaigns give a new client visible results in the first weeks.

Where Local Falcon is better

If all you need is map data at very large scale, Local Falcon goes deeper.

  • Grid depth: 3x3 to 21x21 grids with a radius from 0.1 to 100 miles, for mapping a whole region.
  • Apple Maps: it checks Apple Maps as well as Google Maps.
  • Many keywords on a grid: around 35 weekly 7x7 keywords fit in the $24.99 Starter plan.

Where Growth Bull is better

Growth Bull is better when you want to grow your rankings, not only watch them.

  • Review Builder wins reviews for you: requests go out automatically after every paid invoice in Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, FreeAgent, HubSpot or Pipedrive, with 300 texts a month included.
  • Results owners can see: new Google reviews arrive every week, with a text every Friday listing them, so owners feel the value and agencies keep clients longer.
  • No credits to manage: Rank Map is a flat $39 a month, and it names who holds number one.
  • Normal Google rankings too: Keyword Tracker checks every morning, with every result kept forever.
  • Commercial AI visibility tracking with Claude: asked from your own town, showing who is recommended instead.
  • Everything in one hub for one price: Complete Growth is $169 a month for every tool, against $220 bought separately.
  • White label on every agency plan: every tool for every client, not just reports.
  • Social Posting with AI on the way: included free with Complete Growth when it opens, posting to Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X and your Google Business Profile, and turning new 5-star reviews into thank-you posts.

Which should you choose?

Choose Growth Bull if you want your map position and the reviews that move it in one place; choose Local Falcon if you need specialist map data at large scale.

If you're a roofer who wants to know whether you show up in the next town and who's beating you, Rank Map answers that weekly for $39. Add Review Builder, or upgrade to Complete Growth, and you're doing something about it.

If you run a salon, clinic or dental practice, Review Builder turns every paid invoice into a review request, and Rank Map and AI Visibility show whether that growth is reaching new customers.

If you're a national or multi-location brand, Review Builder works at volume across every paid invoice. Book a call with Tom to talk through set-up.

If you run an agency selling map grid audits across dozens of keywords, Local Falcon Premium's credit pool is a strong specialist fit. If your clients want more reviews and a tidy monthly report, Growth Bull's agency plans cover both.
