What is Growth Bull?
Growth Bull is an all-in-one business growth suite built specifically for local businesses, such as contractors, home service companies, salons, clinics and other service businesses. Its flagship tool, Review Builder, gets real Google reviews automatically after every paid invoice, and the rest of the suite tracks how that growth shows up on Google Maps, in Google search and in AI answers.
The suite, in order:
- Review Builder, Growth Bull's flagship review automation tool, $89 a month.
- Rank Map, $39, a Google Maps rank grid.
- Keyword Tracker, from $22, daily keyword rank tracking.
- AI Visibility, $43, commercial AI visibility tracking across ChatGPT, Claude and Google's AI.
- Social Posting with AI (opening soon, included free with Complete Growth) writes and schedules posts for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X and your Google Business Profile, and turns new five-star reviews into thank-you posts automatically.
Complete Growth, the all-in-one plan, gives you every tool for $169 a month. Growth Bull is also a white label platform, so agencies and freelancers can run every tool for every client under their own brand.
It's built for local businesses such as contractors and home service companies (plumbers, electricians, roofers, HVAC, builders, landscapers, cleaners), plus salons, barbers, dentists, clinics, accountants, attorneys, real estate agents, mechanics and cafes, and the agencies that serve them.
What is Podium?
Podium is a customer messaging platform that puts texts, webchat, phone calls, payments and review invites into one inbox.
Its review side is text-first: after a visit, the customer gets a text inviting them to leave a review, with reminders if they don't. Around that sits text marketing, payments by text, AI review responses and a feature Podium calls its "AI Employee".
Podium connects to more than 200 apps, including QuickBooks, HubSpot and Shopify. It's sold in the United States, Canada and Australia. Users rate it 4.5 on G2 from 2,150 reviews and 4.2 on Capterra from 526 reviews (third-party figures, checked October 2026).
How do Growth Bull and Podium get you more reviews?
Growth Bull's Review Builder sends one text and one email after every paid invoice, while Podium sends a text-first invite with reminders inside its messaging inbox.
Growth Bull's Review Builder starts from your accounts. It connects to Xero, QuickBooks, Sage and FreeAgent, plus HubSpot and Pipedrive, so a paid invoice becomes a review request on its own. The text and email go out under your business name two hours after the job, inside sending hours. If nobody clicks, there's one reminder three days later, and then it stops.
Asking once the bill is paid feels natural. The job's done, the customer's happy, and the request arrives while the work is fresh in their mind.
Review Builder includes 300 texts a month plus email. Anyone who's already reviewed you is never asked again, every message has a stop link, and you can ask past customers too, a few a day. The hub shows every request, click and review won, and you get a text every Friday with your weekly total.
Podium's invite lands in the same text thread as your other customer conversations, which is very natural if your team already texts customers all day.
Both approaches are fine under Google's rules, as long as everyone is asked. "Review gating" means filtering out unhappy customers before they reach Google, and Google's review policy prohibits it. Review Builder sends every customer the same Google link with no star filter, with a private feedback link that's never a gate.
Why is Review Builder the big difference?
Because owners can see it working. New Google reviews arrive every week, and that's the one result every customer understands.
Podium's review invites live inside a busy inbox alongside calls, chats and payments. In Growth Bull, Review Builder is the main event: it runs from your paid invoices with nothing to remember, and the Friday text tells you exactly what it won you.
Why does that matter so much? Reviews are how customers choose who to call. Google's own guidance lists prominence, including reviews and ratings, as a local ranking factor. So more genuine reviews means more calls, and that's the kind of growth you can feel in the calendar.
The rest of the suite keeps that going. A win-back campaign asks past customers for reviews, a few a day. The private feedback link lets an unhappy customer tell you first. Social Posting with AI, opening soon and included free with Complete Growth, will turn new five-star reviews into thank-you posts automatically and can plan a month of posts in one press.
Can you see whether your reviews are working?
Growth Bull shows the effect of your reviews on Google Maps, in Google search and in AI answers; Podium does not track rankings at all.
That matters because reviews are only half the story. Google says local results depend on relevance, distance and prominence, and reviews feed into prominence. So the useful question is: are your new reviews actually moving you up?
Growth Bull answers that with three tools Podium doesn't offer.
Growth Bull's Rank Map ($39) checks your position in the Google Maps "map pack" (the box of three businesses with a map at the top of Google) from 49 points around your business every week. Wherever you're not number one, it names who is.
Growth Bull's Keyword Tracker (from $22) checks your Google rankings every morning from your own town or nationwide, on desktop or mobile, with every result kept forever.
Growth Bull's AI Visibility ($43) is commercial AI visibility tracking. It asks ChatGPT, Claude and Google's AI the buying questions customers actually ask ("Who's the best roofer near me?"), from your own town, and shows whether you're recommended, whether your website is cited, and who is recommended instead.
Growth Bull keeps AI visibility simple and commercial on purpose. It tracks the assistants people actually use and deliberately leaves out lower-volume platforms such as Perplexity and Grok, so the score reflects where customers really ask. There are no vanity counts of every blog or source an AI cited, just three lead-gen questions: were you recommended, was your website cited, and who was recommended instead.
Put those next to Review Builder and you close the loop: reviews going up, then your map position, rankings and AI mentions following. If you also want listings and citations, Growth Bull vs BrightLocal for all-in-one local SEO is a useful next read.
What does Podium do that Growth Bull doesn't?
Podium is a full messaging hub, and Growth Bull isn't trying to be one.
With Podium, a business can run its whole customer conversation in one place: reply to webchat, take calls, send text marketing and take payments by text. If your main problem is "we miss inquiries" rather than "we need more reviews and visibility", that's what Podium is built for.
Growth Bull focuses on growth: reviews in, rankings and AI recommendations up. Missed-call text back and quote follow-ups are on Growth Bull's roadmap, as is Social Posting with AI, but none of them are live yet, so we won't count them here.
How much do Growth Bull and Podium cost?
Growth Bull starts at $89 a month for Review Builder and $169 a month for Complete Growth, while Podium starts at $399 a month for Core.
| Plan | Price per month | What it includes |
|---|---|---|
| Growth Bull Review Builder | $89 | Automated Google review requests, 300 texts plus email |
| Growth Bull Complete Growth | $169 | Review Builder, Rank Map, Keyword Tracker Plus and AI Visibility |
| Podium Core | $399/mo | Messaging and reviews platform |
| Podium Pro | $599/mo | More of the platform |
| Podium Signature | Custom | Quote from sales |
Prices per month, checked October 2026.
Podium's phones cost extra: around $25 to $30 per user a month, plus a $500 network fee per location.
Here's where Complete Growth outshines single-purpose tools. No competitor at this price combines automated review requests, a map rank grid, daily keyword tracking and commercial AI visibility tracking in one hub, and Complete Growth costs less than a third of Podium Core.
Then there's the contract.
Podium has a 12-month initial term that auto-renews unless you give one month's notice, and if you leave early, its terms say you pay the remaining term. It's sold mainly through demos, without a general free trial. Some reviewers mention price and difficulty canceling (third-party comments).
Growth Bull is monthly by card with no contract. You cancel any month from the hub, keep access to the end of the paid period, and every plan has a 7-day free trial.
Does either suit agencies?
Growth Bull is also a white label platform, while Podium does not offer white label.
Agencies and freelancers run every Growth Bull tool for every client under their own brand, with white label reports in their logo and colors sent automatically. Agency 5 is $289 a month for five clients and Agency 10 is $549 a month for ten, with up to 10 team logins.
For agencies and freelancers, Review Builder doubles as a retention tool. Clients who watch their reviews and rankings climb under your agency's name stay longer, which helps reduce churn and raise client lifetime value. Agencies focused on reviews should also read Growth Bull vs GatherUp for reviews and feedback.
Where Podium is better
If all you need is a customer conversation hub, Podium goes deeper.
- One inbox for every conversation. Texts, webchat, phone calls and payments sit together, so a front-desk team never switches apps.
- Wider app connections. More than 200 integrations, including QuickBooks, HubSpot and Shopify.
- Text marketing and AI replies. Podium can send offers to past customers and write AI responses to reviews.
Where Growth Bull is better
Growth Bull wins for local businesses that want reviews and visible growth, without a year-long commitment.
- Review Builder is built around getting paid. Growth Bull's flagship review automation tool turns paid invoices in Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, FreeAgent, HubSpot or Pipedrive into review requests, with 300 texts a month included.
- Results owners can see. New Google reviews every week, counted up in a Friday text, and more reviews means more calls.
- Win-back and private feedback. Ask past customers for reviews a few a day, and give unhappy customers a private way to tell you first, never a gate.
- Proof on the map. Rank Map checks 49 points every week and names who holds number one wherever you don't.
- Daily keyword tracking. Keyword Tracker checks your Google rankings every morning and keeps every result forever.
- Commercial AI visibility tracking, including Claude. AI Visibility shows whether ChatGPT, Claude and Google's AI recommend you, and who they recommend instead.
- Everything in one hub for one price. Complete Growth costs $169 a month, against $399 for Podium Core.
- White label for agencies. Run the whole suite for clients under your own brand, and keep clients longer because they can see the results.
- No contract. Cancel any month, with a 7-day free trial on every plan.
Which should you choose?
Start with the problem you most want solved.
If you're a plumber or electrician who invoices through Xero or QuickBooks and wants more Google reviews, Review Builder does that automatically for $89 a month. Upgrade to Complete Growth ($169) when you want to see whether you're climbing on Google Maps, in search and in ChatGPT.
If you run a salon, barber shop or clinic, Review Builder works from paid invoices or a pasted client list, and AI Visibility shows whether AI assistants recommend you when someone asks for the best in town.
If you run a busy service company or a multi-location brand finishing lots of jobs a month, Review Builder turns every paid invoice into a review request at volume, and Complete Growth tracks the effect across your area. Book a call with Tom to set it up.
If juggling texts, calls, webchat and payments is your biggest headache, Podium is a capable choice; read the 12-month term carefully. Many businesses pair a messaging tool with Growth Bull for reviews and rankings.
If you want a review tool built around field-service software like Jobber or ServiceTitan, compare Growth Bull vs NiceJob for review automation.
