Growth Bull and GatherUp both send review requests, but they are built to do different jobs. GatherUp is a review and customer feedback platform: it asks for reviews, runs NPS surveys and monitors what people say about you on Google and more than 100 other sites. Growth Bull is an all-in-one business growth suite built specifically for local businesses, such as contractors, home service companies, salons, clinics and other service businesses. Its flagship tool, Review Builder, gets real Google reviews automatically after every paid invoice, and the rest of the suite tracks how that growth shows up on Google Maps, in Google search and in AI answers.
So which suits you? If you want more Google reviews and proof that they're moving you up, Growth Bull is the stronger pick. If deep customer surveys are the main goal, GatherUp goes further.

Growth Bull vs GatherUp
Growth Bull is the stronger choice for most local businesses because Review Builder, its flagship review automation tool, turns every paid invoice into a Google review request and Complete Growth adds map, keyword and AI visibility tracking in one hub; GatherUp wins for businesses whose main need is NPS surveys and monitoring across 100+ review sites.

What is GatherUp?
GatherUp is a review and feedback tool that collects reviews, runs customer surveys and monitors your online reputation.
It sends review requests by text and email, with up to 300 texts and 3,000 emails per location each month. It watches Google and over 100 other review sites, so new reviews land in one place. It also runs NPS (Net Promoter Score, a simple "how likely are you to recommend us, 0 to 10" question) and wider surveys, offers website review widgets and writes AI-assisted replies.
There's an optional Listings Hub add-on at $40 per location for managing your business details across directories, and white label (your branding instead of theirs) on the agency plan. It holds a 4.5 on G2 from 50 reviews (third-party figure).
What is Growth Bull?
Growth Bull is an all-in-one business growth suite for local businesses such as contractors and home service companies (plumbers, electricians, roofers, HVAC, builders, landscapers, cleaners), plus salons, barbers, dentists, clinics, accountants, attorneys, real estate agents, mechanics and cafes, and the agencies that serve them.
The suite has four tools, with a fifth on the way:
- Review Builder, Growth Bull's flagship review automation tool, $89 a month, sends a text and an email with your Google review link after every paid invoice.
- Rank Map, $39 a month, is a Google Maps rank grid that shows where you appear in the map pack across your area every week.
- Keyword Tracker, from $22 a month, checks your Google rankings every morning from your own town or nationwide, on desktop or mobile, with every result kept forever.
- AI Visibility, $43 a month, is commercial AI visibility tracking across ChatGPT, Claude and Google's AI.
- Social Posting with AI is opening soon: write a post once, or let Growth Bull write it, and it goes out to Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X and your Google Business Profile at natural-looking times. "Plan my month" writes a month of posts from your own details in one press, and new 5-star reviews turn into thank-you posts automatically. It will be included free with Complete Growth and switches on automatically for Complete Growth accounts.
Complete Growth, the all-in-one plan, puts every tool in one monthly price: $169. There's no contract, you can cancel any month, and every plan has a 7-day free trial. National and multi-location brands are a fit too, because every paid invoice becomes a review request without anyone typing in a name.
Why is Review Builder the feature that makes the difference?
Review Builder is the part of Growth Bull that most separates it from rank trackers, reporting tools and feedback dashboards, because it doesn't just measure growth. It creates it.
Business owners love it for a simple reason: they can see it working. New Google reviews arrive every week, and that is the one result every customer understands. No scores to decode, just more stars on your listing and a text every Friday telling you how many you gained.
More reviews also mean more calls. Reviews are how customers choose who to call, and Google's own guidance lists prominence, which includes reviews and ratings, as a local ranking factor.
For agencies and freelancers, Review Builder is a retention tool. Clients who watch their reviews and rankings climb under the agency's name stay longer, which helps reduce churn and raise client lifetime value.
Why do Google reviews matter for local businesses?
Google reviews matter because Google says local results are decided mainly by relevance, distance and prominence, and reviews feed prominence.
Prominence is how well known and trusted your business looks. Google's own help page names reviews as part of it. A steady flow of genuine reviews is one of the few ranking signals you directly control. Is anyone in your business asking every single customer right now?
Most owners mean to ask. Few do it every time. Review automation fixes that by connecting to where your jobs and invoices are recorded, so the request goes out on your busiest week too.
More good reviews, more often, gives Google more reason to show you.
How do GatherUp and Growth Bull send review requests?
GatherUp sends review requests by text and email from a large monthly allowance, while Growth Bull's Review Builder sends one text and one email per paid invoice, plus one reminder only if nobody clicks.
GatherUp gives each location up to 300 text credits and 3,000 email credits a month, and a request can double as a quick satisfaction check.
Review Builder runs itself. Two hours after the job, inside sending hours, the customer gets one text and one email under your business name. If they don't click, one reminder goes out three days later, then it stops. Anyone who has already reviewed you is never asked again, and every message has a stop link. You get 300 texts a month plus email, a win-back campaign can ask past customers a few a day, and a text every Friday tells you how many reviews you gained.
That rhythm suits a busy local business: polite, consistent and completely hands-off.
Does either tool use review gating?
Review gating means checking whether a customer is happy before deciding whether to send them to Google, and Google's rules don't allow it.
Google's review policy says businesses must not selectively ask for positive reviews. That includes "rate us first, and if you give five stars we'll send you to Google" flows.
This matters most with feedback tools, because they naturally ask "how did we do?" first. Review Builder avoids the question entirely: everyone gets the same Google link with no star filter. Unhappy customers also get a private feedback link to tell you first, but it never stands in the way of Google.
GatherUp's pricing page doesn't describe how its feedback flow and review links are set up, so we won't guess. With any feedback or NPS tool, check that every customer is offered your Google link, whatever score they give.
Which tool connects to the software you already use?
Growth Bull's Review Builder starts requests from paid invoices in the accounting software and CRMs local businesses use most, while GatherUp leans on a QuickBooks Online trigger plus Zapier, webhooks and an API.
| Software | Growth Bull | GatherUp |
|---|---|---|
| Xero | Yes, after a paid invoice | Not listed |
| QuickBooks | Yes | Yes (QuickBooks Online) |
| Sage | Yes | Not listed |
| FreeAgent | Yes | Not listed |
| HubSpot, Pipedrive | Yes | Not listed |
| Salesforce, Mailchimp, Google Sheets, Toast | Not listed | Yes |
| Zapier, webhooks, API | Not listed | Yes |
| Add customers by hand or paste a list | Yes | Not stated publicly |
For most local businesses this table decides it. Xero, Sage and FreeAgent are everyday tools for small firms, and GatherUp doesn't list any of them natively. You could build a link through Zapier, but that's another tool to set up and maintain. With Growth Bull, you connect once and every paid invoice does the asking.
If your customer records live in Salesforce, or you have a developer ready to use an API, GatherUp gives you that flexibility.
Can GatherUp or Growth Bull show whether reviews improve your rankings?
Growth Bull can, because the rest of the suite tracks your map, search and AI results; GatherUp has no rank tracking.
A quick glossary first. The map pack is the box of three businesses with a map near the top of Google. A rank grid checks your map position from lots of points around you, since results change street by street. Keyword tracking follows where your website sits in Google's normal results for searches you choose. AI visibility shows whether AI assistants name you when someone asks for a recommendation.
Here's how the suite closes the loop:
- Rank Map checks 49 points around your business every week, about six miles across, and names who holds number one wherever you don't, so you know exactly who you're chasing.
- Keyword Tracker checks your Google rankings every morning from your own town or nationwide, on desktop or mobile, with every result kept forever.
- AI Visibility, Growth Bull's commercial AI visibility tracking, asks ChatGPT, Claude and Google's AI the buying questions customers actually ask ("Who's the best roofer near me?"), from your own town, and shows whether you're recommended, whether your website is cited, and who is recommended instead.
Put together, you watch reviews rise and then see whether your map position, search rankings and AI recommendations follow. With GatherUp, you'd need separate tools for all three. Our guide to the best local rank tracking tools and our roundup of the best AI visibility tools for local businesses explain the wider market.
How much do GatherUp and Growth Bull cost?
GatherUp costs around $99 a month for one location (checked October 2026), while Growth Bull's Review Builder costs $89 a month and Complete Growth, the all-in-one plan, costs $169.
Prices per month, checked October 2026.
| Plan | Price per month | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| GatherUp Small Business (1 location) | $99/mo, about $79 billed annually | Review requests, monitoring, NPS and surveys, widgets, AI replies |
| GatherUp multi-location | $60/mo per location | As above, per location |
| GatherUp Listings Hub add-on | $40/mo per location | Directory listings management |
| GatherUp agency | Custom | White label |
| Growth Bull Review Builder | $89/mo | Google review requests after every paid invoice, 300 texts plus email |
| Growth Bull Complete Growth | $169/mo | Review Builder, Rank Map, Keyword Tracker Plus and AI Visibility, plus Social Posting with AI when it opens |
| Growth Bull Agency 5 | $289/mo | 5 clients, every tool for each, white label reports |
Upgrading to Complete Growth is where Growth Bull outshines single-purpose tools. No competitor at this price combines automated review requests, a map rank grid, daily keyword tracking and commercial AI visibility tracking in one hub. Bought separately at their dollar prices, the four tools add up to $220, so the plan saves $51 a month. Social Posting with AI will be added to Complete Growth free when it opens.
Growth Bull has no contract, you can cancel any month from your hub, and every plan has a 7-day free trial.
How do the two compare for agencies?
Growth Bull is also a white label platform: agencies and freelancers run every tool for every client under their own brand, with white label reports in their logo and colors sent automatically.
Agency 5 costs $289 a month and Agency 10 costs $549 a month. Every client gets Review Builder, Rank Map, Keyword Tracker Plus with 50 keywords, and AI Visibility, with 750 or 1,500 texts a month shared across clients. You also get up to 10 team logins and a client switcher.
Why does that matter for an agency's bottom line? Review Builder gives clients something they can see every week: new Google reviews arriving under your agency's name. Clients who watch their reviews and rankings climb stay longer, so it helps reduce churn and raise client lifetime value.
GatherUp offers white label on its agency plan, with custom pricing and no rank or AI tracking to report on. For agencies, our comparisons of Growth Bull vs Grade.us and the best white label SEO tools go deeper.
Where GatherUp is better
GatherUp is a specialist feedback platform, and in a few areas it goes deeper.
- Feedback and NPS. If measuring customer satisfaction is the main goal, GatherUp's NPS and surveys go further than a private feedback link.
- Monitoring beyond Google. If you need reviews tracked across 100+ sites, GatherUp covers that breadth.
- Per-branch feedback pricing. At around $60 per location, a feedback-led group with several branches gets one dashboard at a fair price.
- Developer connections. Salesforce, Zapier, webhooks and an API suit teams with in-house tech help.
Where Growth Bull is better
Growth Bull is better for local businesses that want more Google reviews and want to see what those reviews do for them.
- Review Builder leads the way. Growth Bull's flagship review automation tool sends one text and one email after every paid invoice, with one polite reminder and no repeats for people who've already reviewed. Owners see it working, with new Google reviews every week and a Friday text with the total.
- More than new requests. A win-back campaign asks past customers for reviews, a few a day, and unhappy customers get a private feedback link that is never a gate.
- Requests start from paid invoices. Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, FreeAgent, HubSpot and Pipedrive connect directly, so there's no Zapier to build.
- One hub, one price. Complete Growth adds Rank Map, Keyword Tracker Plus and AI Visibility for $169 a month, so reviews and their results live side by side, and Social Posting with AI joins it free when it opens.
- You see who's beating you. Rank Map names who holds number one at every point on the map where you don't.
- AI answers covered, Claude included. Commercial AI visibility tracking across ChatGPT, Claude and Google's AI shows whether you're recommended and who is named instead.
- White label for agencies. Every tool for every client, with branded reports sent automatically, from $289 a month for five clients, and a review tool that helps keep clients for longer.
- No contract. Monthly billing, cancel any month, 7-day free trial on every plan.
Which should you choose?
Think about what you're actually trying to fix.
If you're a plumber or electrician who invoices in Xero, QuickBooks or FreeAgent, Growth Bull is the easier fit. Paid invoices trigger review requests automatically, and Rank Map shows whether you're climbing in the map pack around town.
If you run a salon, clinic or cafe that wants more Google reviews and to show up when people ask AI for a recommendation, Complete Growth covers both for one price, with AI Visibility checking ChatGPT, Claude and Google's AI every week.
If you run a multi-location brand finishing lots of jobs a month, Growth Bull turns every paid invoice into a Google review request at volume and tracks every location's rankings and AI visibility; book a call with Tom to set it up. If your priority is NPS and per-branch feedback, GatherUp's $60 per location is worth pricing.
If you run an agency, Growth Bull's Agency 5 gives five clients every tool plus white label reports for $289 a month, and Review Builder gives every client a result they can see each week.
If you sell online and want a trust badge on your own site, read Growth Bull vs Trustpilot. Larger brands weighing an enterprise platform may also want Growth Bull vs Birdeye.

Questions people ask
How much does GatherUp cost?
GatherUp costs around $99 a month for one location (checked October 2026), or about $79 a month billed annually. Multi-location businesses pay around $60 per location, and agency pricing is custom. Growth Bull's Review Builder is $89 a month, and Complete Growth, the all-in-one plan, is $169 a month.
Does GatherUp integrate with Xero?
GatherUp does not list Xero, Sage, FreeAgent or Jobber among its integrations, as checked in October 2026. It has a native QuickBooks Online trigger, plus Zapier, webhooks and an API. Growth Bull's Review Builder connects to Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, FreeAgent, HubSpot and Pipedrive and sends a request after every paid invoice.
Does GatherUp track Google rankings or AI answers?
No, GatherUp does not offer rank tracking or AI visibility tracking. It focuses on review requests, monitoring, NPS and surveys. Growth Bull adds Rank Map, Keyword Tracker and AI Visibility to Review Builder, so you can see whether more reviews lift you on Google Maps, in Google search and in AI answers.
Is it allowed to send only happy customers to Google?
No. Google's review policy prohibits selectively asking for positive reviews, which is often called review gating. Growth Bull sends every customer the same Google link with no star filter. Whichever tool you choose, make sure every customer can reach your Google review page, not only the ones who scored you highly.
Why do agencies use Review Builder to keep clients?
Because clients can see it working. New Google reviews arrive every week under the agency's name, and that is a result every business owner understands. Clients who watch their reviews and rankings climb tend to stay longer, so Review Builder helps agencies reduce churn and raise client lifetime value.
Which is better for a business with several branches?
It depends on the goal. GatherUp's price drops to around $60 per location with NPS and monitoring per branch, which suits feedback-led groups. Growth Bull suits multi-location brands that want Google reviews from every paid invoice plus map, keyword and AI visibility tracking; book a call with Tom to set it up.
