What is Growth Bull?
Growth Bull is an all-in-one business growth suite built specifically for local businesses, such as contractors, home service companies, salons, clinics and other service businesses. Its flagship tool, Review Builder, gets real Google reviews automatically after every paid invoice, and the rest of the suite tracks how that growth shows up on Google Maps, in Google search and in AI answers.
The suite has four tools, with a fifth on the way:
- Review Builder, Growth Bull's flagship review automation tool, $89 a month, sends one text and one email with your Google review link after every paid invoice.
- Rank Map, $39, is a Google Maps rank grid that checks your position from 49 points around your business every week.
- Keyword Tracker, from $22, checks your Google rankings every morning from your own town or nationwide, on desktop or mobile, with every result kept forever.
- AI Visibility, $43, is commercial AI visibility tracking across ChatGPT, Claude and Google's AI.
- Social Posting with AI (opening soon, included free with Complete Growth) writes and schedules posts for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X and your Google Business Profile, and turns new five-star reviews into thank-you posts automatically.
Upgrade to Complete Growth, the all-in-one plan, and you get every tool for $169 a month. Growth Bull is also a white label platform: agencies and freelancers run every tool for every client under their own brand.
It's built for local businesses such as contractors and home service companies (plumbers, electricians, roofers, HVAC, builders, landscapers, cleaners), plus salons, barbers, dentists, clinics, accountants, attorneys, real estate agents, mechanics and cafes, and the agencies that serve them.
What is Birdeye?
Birdeye is a customer experience platform that bundles review management with webchat, payments, surveys, social publishing and business listings on more than 50 sites.
It is designed for brands with many locations. Think of a chain of 60 dental practices or a franchise, where head office wants every branch's reviews, messages and listings in one place.
Birdeye is well reviewed by its own users. It holds 4.7 out of 5 on G2 from 4,235 reviews and 4.7 on Capterra from 707 reviews (third-party figures, checked October 2026).
How do Growth Bull and Birdeye get you more Google reviews?
Both Growth Bull and Birdeye send review requests by text and email automatically, triggered by something that happens in your other software.
Growth Bull's Review Builder starts from the moment you get paid. It connects to Xero, QuickBooks, Sage and FreeAgent, plus HubSpot and Pipedrive, so a paid invoice turns into a review request on its own. Your customer gets one text and one email under your business name, two hours after the job and inside sensible sending hours. If nobody clicks, there's one reminder three days later, and then it stops.
That's the whole point of a flagship tool. You don't remember to ask. It just happens, every job.
It also covers the details that keep customers happy. 300 texts a month are included, plus email. Anyone who has already left you a review is never asked again, every message has a stop link, and you can ask past customers too, a few a day, as a win-back campaign. Every Friday you get a text telling you how many reviews you won that week.
No accounting software? You can add a customer by hand (name and mobile, about ten seconds) or paste in a list.
Birdeye fires requests when a contact is added or a payment is completed, and connects to more than 3,000 apps, including Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho, Square and Toast. If your business runs on an unusual system, Birdeye is more likely to plug into it.
Both tools stay inside Google's rules. "Review gating" means only asking happy customers to leave a Google review and steering unhappy ones elsewhere, and Google's review policy does not allow it. Birdeye's terms ban it, and Review Builder sends every customer the same Google link with no star filter. Unhappy customers also get a private feedback link so they can tell you first, but it's never a gate.
Why is Review Builder the part owners notice first?
Because it produces the one result every customer understands: new Google reviews arriving every week.
Rank grids and reports take a little explaining. A fresh five-star review with a real customer's name on it doesn't. Owners open their Google profile and can see Review Builder working, and the Friday text confirms how many reviews came in that week.
It matters beyond feeling good, too. Reviews are how customers choose who to call, and Google's own guidance lists prominence, including reviews and ratings, as a local ranking factor. More genuine reviews, arriving steadily, means more calls.
Birdeye collects reviews as well, of course. The difference is focus: in Growth Bull, Review Builder is the heart of the product rather than one module in a large platform, and it sits right next to the tools that show what those reviews are doing for you.
And it isn't working alone. A win-back campaign asks past customers for reviews, a few a day. The private feedback link catches problems before they become public. Social Posting with AI, opening soon and included free with Complete Growth, will turn new five-star reviews into thank-you posts automatically.
Which tool shows where you rank on Google Maps?
Growth Bull's Rank Map shows your Google Maps position from 49 points around your business every week and names who holds number one wherever you don't; Birdeye's local SEO rank report covers up to 10 local keywords with a grid view.
A bit of jargon first. The "map pack" is the box of three businesses with a map that appears at the top of Google when someone searches "plumber near me". A "rank grid" (or geo-grid) checks your position from lots of points around your business, because you might be first on your own street but nowhere two miles away.
Growth Bull's Rank Map runs a 7x7 grid with points a mile apart, about six miles across, with 5x5 or 9x9 if you prefer. The first scan runs while you watch. You track the search you choose, such as "boiler repair" or "hair salon", and every scan is kept so you can see your top-three count climb.
The most useful part? Wherever you're not number one, Rank Map tells you who is. That turns a vague "we should rank better" into a named competitor to chase.
Google says local results depend on relevance, distance and prominence, and reviews feed into prominence. That's why Review Builder and Rank Map sit in the same hub: you can watch one move the other.
If you want even larger grids for agency audits, our comparison of Growth Bull vs Local Falcon for map rank tracking covers that.
Which tool tracks your Google keywords and AI answers?
Growth Bull tracks both your Google keywords and your commercial AI visibility in the same hub; Birdeye covers AI answers through its quote-only AI Search product.
Growth Bull's Keyword Tracker checks your Google rankings every morning from your own town or nationwide, on desktop or mobile, with every result kept forever. You see the change since yesterday, last week and last month, plus which page of your website is ranking. Keyword Tracker Plus, included in Complete Growth, tracks 50 searches.
"AI visibility" means whether tools like ChatGPT name your business when someone asks for a recommendation. More people ask AI before they ask Google, so it's worth knowing the answer.
Growth Bull's AI Visibility is commercial AI visibility tracking: it asks ChatGPT, Claude and Google's AI the buying questions customers actually ask ("Who's the best roofer near me?"), from your own town, and shows whether you're recommended, whether your website is cited, and who is recommended instead. It runs every Monday, with a visibility score per assistant tracked over time.
Birdeye's AI Search product checks ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, Google's AI Overviews, AI Mode and Grok at location level. That breadth, priced by quote, is built for enterprise brand teams tracking large prompt sets across every engine.
Growth Bull keeps AI visibility simple and commercial on purpose. It tracks the assistants people actually use and deliberately leaves out lower-volume platforms such as Perplexity and Grok, so the score reflects where customers really ask. There are no vanity counts of every blog or source an AI cited, just three lead-gen questions: were you recommended, was your website cited, and who was recommended instead. That ties AI visibility to leads rather than an abstract "share of voice".

How much do Growth Bull and Birdeye cost, and what are the contracts?
Growth Bull publishes its prices, from $89 a month for Review Builder to $169 a month for Complete Growth, while Birdeye only gives prices by quote.
The Birdeye figures below are third-party estimates from CostBench (August 2026), not Birdeye's own published prices. Your quote could be higher or lower.
| Plan | Price per month | What it includes |
|---|---|---|
| Growth Bull Review Builder | $89 | Automated Google review requests, 300 texts plus email |
| Growth Bull Complete Growth | $169 | Review Builder, Rank Map, Keyword Tracker Plus and AI Visibility |
| Birdeye Starter | ~$299/mo | Third-party estimate, per location |
| Birdeye Growth | ~$349/mo | Third-party estimate, per location |
| Birdeye Dominate | ~$449/mo | Third-party estimate, per location |
Prices per month, checked October 2026. Birdeye figures are third-party estimates.
This is where Complete Growth outshines single-purpose tools. No competitor at this price combines automated review requests, a map rank grid, daily keyword tracking and commercial AI visibility tracking in one hub. Bought separately, Growth Bull's tools would cost $220, so the plan saves $51 a month.
Contracts matter just as much as price.
Birdeye's terms say contracts auto-renew for the same term unless you give notice at least 90 days before renewal. Some Capterra reviewers mention that it's hard to cancel, that contracts are strict and that the price is high for small teams (third-party comments). Birdeye does offer a 30-day free trial.
Growth Bull has no contract at all. You pay monthly by card, cancel any month from the hub and keep access to the end of the period you've paid for. Every plan has a 7-day free trial.
Which is easier for a busy owner to run?
Growth Bull goes live within a minute of paying and then runs on its own, while Birdeye's wider platform takes more time to learn.
With Growth Bull, you connect your accounting software, check the message wording, and review requests start going out. The map, keyword and AI checks run on their schedules in the background. Everything you need sits on one screen: requests sent, clicks, reviews won, your grid, your rankings and what AI says about you.
Birdeye is a full platform with inbox, payments, surveys and listings. That's brilliant if you'll use every part. If your goal is more reviews and better visibility, you may end up paying for, and clicking past, a lot you never touch.
What about agencies and white label?
Growth Bull is also a white label platform: agencies and freelancers run every tool for every client under their own brand, with white label reports in their logo and colors sent automatically.
Agency 5 costs $289 a month for five clients, and Agency 10 costs $549 a month for ten. Every client gets Review Builder, Rank Map, Keyword Tracker Plus and AI Visibility, with up to 10 team logins.
For agencies and freelancers, Review Builder is also a retention tool. Clients who watch their reviews and rankings climb under your agency's name stay longer, which helps reduce churn and raise client lifetime value. Birdeye offers white label through a reseller program. Agencies comparing review tools should also read Growth Bull vs Grade.us as an agency review tool.
Where Birdeye is better
If you need specialist breadth at multi-location scale, Birdeye goes deeper in a few areas.
- Integrations at scale. Birdeye connects to more than 3,000 apps, so it will almost certainly talk to whatever booking, CRM or till system a large brand already runs.
- A full customer platform. Birdeye bundles webchat, payments, surveys, social publishing and listings on 50+ sites, so head office can replace several tools with one.
- Every review site and more AI engines. Birdeye monitors reviews from every site, and its AI Search also covers Perplexity, Gemini and Grok for enterprise brand teams tracking large prompt sets.
Where Growth Bull is better
Growth Bull wins for local businesses that want more reviews and clear proof of growth, at a price they can see.
- Review Builder is built around getting paid. Growth Bull's flagship review automation tool turns every paid invoice in Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, FreeAgent, HubSpot or Pipedrive into a review request, with 300 texts a month included.
- Results owners can see. New Google reviews arrive every week, a Friday text counts them up, and more reviews means more calls.
- The extras that keep reviews flowing. Win-back campaigns for past customers, a private feedback link that's never a gate, and Social Posting with AI opening soon on Complete Growth.
- The whole growth picture in one hub. Complete Growth puts Review Builder, Rank Map, Keyword Tracker and AI Visibility together for $169 a month, so you can see whether more reviews are moving you up.
- Named competitors on the map. Rank Map names who holds number one wherever you don't, so you know exactly who to chase.
- Daily keyword tracking included. Keyword Tracker checks your rankings every morning and keeps every result forever.
- Commercial AI visibility tracking, including Claude. AI Visibility asks the buying questions your customers ask, from your own town, and shows who is recommended instead of you.
- White label that keeps clients. Agencies run the whole suite under their own brand, and clients who see results stay longer.
- Published prices, no contract. You know the price before you speak to anyone, and you can stop any month.
Which should you choose?
It mostly comes down to how many locations you have and what you want the tool to do.
If you're a one-truck roofer who invoices through Xero and wants more Google reviews without thinking about it, Review Builder at $89 a month is the straightforward start. Upgrade to Complete Growth when you want to see those reviews lifting you on the map, in search and in AI answers.
If you run a salon, clinic or dental practice, Review Builder works just as well from a paid invoice or a pasted list of clients, and AI Visibility shows whether ChatGPT, Claude and Google's AI recommend you when someone asks for the best in town.
If you run a busy service company finishing lots of jobs a month, Review Builder turns every paid invoice into a review request at volume, and Complete Growth tracks the effect across your area. National and multi-location brands are a fit too: book a call with Tom to set it up.
If you're a large chain that needs webchat, payments and reviews from every site in one dashboard, Birdeye is built for you. Get a written quote and note the 90-day renewal notice before you sign.
If you're an agency, compare Growth Bull vs GatherUp for reviews and feedback too. And if messaging is the main draw, our Growth Bull vs Podium comparison looks at that side in detail.

Questions people ask
How much does Birdeye cost per month?
Birdeye does not publish its prices; you fill in a quote form based on how many locations you have. Third-party estimates from CostBench (August 2026) put plans at around $299, $349 and $449 a month per location. Treat those as estimates and ask Birdeye for a written quote before you sign.
Can I cancel Birdeye at any time?
Not usually mid-term. Birdeye's terms say contracts auto-renew for the same term unless you give notice at least 90 days before renewal. Put that date in your diary on day one. Growth Bull has no contract: you cancel any month from the hub and keep access to the end of the paid period.
What does Growth Bull's Complete Growth plan include?
Complete Growth, the all-in-one plan, costs $169 a month and includes Review Builder, Rank Map, Keyword Tracker Plus with 50 keywords and AI Visibility, with Social Posting included when it opens. Bought separately the tools cost $220, so the plan saves $51 a month. There is no contract and a 7-day free trial.
Do Growth Bull and Birdeye both follow Google's review rules?
Yes. Birdeye's terms ban review gating, and Growth Bull's Review Builder sends every customer the same Google link with no star filter. Google's policy says businesses must not ask only happy customers for reviews. Growth Bull also gives unhappy customers a private feedback link, but it never blocks them from Google.
Which is better for a single-location local business?
For most single-location businesses, Growth Bull is the better fit: Review Builder sends review requests from Xero, QuickBooks, Sage or FreeAgent for $89 a month, and Complete Growth adds map, keyword and AI tracking for $169, with no contract. Birdeye suits brands with many branches needing messaging and payments too.
