Growth Bull and Trustpilot both help you collect customer reviews, but they send those reviews to different places. Trustpilot collects reviews on its own website. Growth Bull sends your customers straight to your Google Business Profile, the free listing that shows your business in Google Maps and in search.
That one difference decides most of this comparison.
Growth Bull is an all-in-one business growth suite built specifically for local businesses, such as contractors, trades, home service companies, salons, clinics and other service businesses. Its flagship tool, Review Builder, gets real Google reviews automatically after every paid invoice, and the rest of the suite tracks how that growth shows up on Google Maps, in Google search and in AI answers.
If customers find you by searching "near me", Google reviews are the ones that matter, and Growth Bull is built for that. If you run an online shop selling nationally, Trustpilot's well-known badge is useful at checkout. For the wider field, see our guide to the best review automation tools.

Growth Bull vs Trustpilot
Growth Bull is the stronger choice for local businesses because Review Builder, its flagship review automation tool, puts reviews on your Google Business Profile where local customers look, and the rest of the suite tracks the effect; Trustpilot wins for online shops that want a recognised badge at checkout.

What is Trustpilot?
Trustpilot is a review platform where customers leave reviews about a business on Trustpilot's own website. Businesses invite customers by email, then show the resulting star rating on their own website as a trust badge.
It is best known among online shoppers, and that recognition at checkout is Trustpilot's biggest strength.
Trustpilot has a free plan with 50 invitations a month. Paid plans start with Starter at £119 a month per domain billed annually (for new small businesses under Trustpilot's revenue cap, 100 invitations), then Plus at £289 a month billed annually upfront (300 invitations). Its pricing page says "all contracts are a 12-month commitment".
What is Growth Bull?
Growth Bull is an all-in-one business growth suite for local businesses such as contractors, trades and home service companies (plumbers, electricians, roofers, HVAC and heating engineers, builders, landscapers, cleaners), plus salons, barbers, dentists, clinics, accountants, solicitors, estate agents, mechanics and cafes, and the agencies that serve them.
The suite has four tools, with a fifth on the way:
- Review Builder, Growth Bull's flagship review automation tool, £69 a month, sends one text and one email with your Google review link after every paid invoice, with 300 texts included.
- Rank Map, £29 a month, is a Google Maps rank grid that shows where you appear in the map pack across your area every week.
- Keyword Tracker, from £17 a month, checks your Google rankings every morning from your own town or nationwide, on desktop or mobile, with every result kept forever.
- AI Visibility, £33 a month, is commercial AI visibility tracking across ChatGPT, Claude and Google's AI.
- Social Posting with AI is opening soon: write a post once, or let Growth Bull write it, and it goes out to Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X and your Google Business Profile at natural-looking times. "Plan my month" writes a month of posts from your own details in one press, and new 5-star reviews turn into thank-you posts automatically. It will be included free with Complete Growth and switches on automatically for Complete Growth accounts.
Complete Growth, the all-in-one plan, puts every tool in one monthly price: £129. Growth Bull is also a white label platform for agencies. There's no contract, you can cancel any month, and every plan has a 7-day free trial.
Where do your reviews actually end up?
Trustpilot reviews live on Trustpilot's website, while Growth Bull reviews live on your Google Business Profile. They simply serve different jobs.
Think about how a customer finds a local business. They type "boiler repair near me" or "dentist in town" into Google, and the first thing they see is the map pack, the box of three businesses with a map at the top of Google. Next to each business is a star rating and a review count.
Those stars come from Google reviews.
A glowing Trustpilot profile does not change that number. So when someone compares three plumbers or three salons in the map pack, your Trustpilot reviews are not part of what they see at that moment.
Google also says reviews matter for local ranking. Its help page on how Google ranks local results explains that results are based on relevance, distance and prominence. Prominence is about how well known and trusted a business looks, and reviews on your Google listing are part of it.
Trustpilot builds trust on Trustpilot and on your website. Review Builder builds trust where local customers are already looking.
Why is Review Builder the big difference?
Review Builder is the feature that most separates Growth Bull from other review platforms, rank trackers and reporting tools, because it puts new reviews exactly where they change who gets the call.
Business owners love it because they can see it working. New Google reviews arrive every week, on the listing their customers actually look at, and a text every Friday tells them how many they gained. That's the one result every customer understands.
More reviews mean more calls. Reviews are how customers choose who to call, and Google's own guidance lists prominence, including reviews and ratings, as a local ranking factor.
For agencies and freelancers, it's a retention tool too. Clients who watch their Google reviews and rankings climb under the agency's name stay longer, which helps reduce churn and raise client lifetime value.
How does each tool ask customers for a review?
Trustpilot sends email invitations, while Growth Bull's Review Builder sends one text and one email after each paid invoice. Trustpilot's features page does not list an SMS option.
For a local business, a text often fits the way you already talk to customers. You probably texted them to confirm the job or appointment, so a short thank-you text with a review link feels natural.
Here's how Review Builder's timing works, in plain terms:
- The request goes out 2 hours after the job, inside sending hours, so it arrives while the work is still fresh in the customer's mind.
- One reminder follows 3 days later, but only if nobody clicked, so you never nag someone who has already acted.
- After that it stops, and anyone who has already left a review is never asked again.
- Every message has a stop link, so customers stay in control.
You can also ask old customers in a gentle win-back campaign, a few a day, and a text every Friday tells you how many reviews you gained. Got a few hundred happy customers from the last couple of years who were never asked? That's where the win-back campaign earns its keep.
Which one works with my invoicing software?
Growth Bull's Review Builder starts requests from paid invoices in Xero, QuickBooks, Sage and FreeAgent, plus HubSpot and Pipedrive. Trustpilot has no native accounting connector, although a Zapier template for Xero exists.
This matters more than it sounds. The biggest reason review requests fail is that a busy owner forgets to send them. If the request goes out by itself when the invoice is paid, you get reviews without thinking about it.
You can also link your Google Business Profile, add a customer by hand (name and mobile, about ten seconds) or paste a list.
Trustpilot's integrations lean towards online businesses: Shopify, HubSpot, Salesforce and Zendesk. If you run a Shopify store, that suits you.
What does each cost for one business?
Growth Bull's Review Builder costs £69 a month with no contract, while Trustpilot's paid plans start at £119 a month per domain billed annually on a 12-month commitment.
Here's the side-by-side. Prices per month, checked October 2026.
| Plan | Monthly price | Requests included | Contract |
|---|---|---|---|
| Trustpilot Free | £0 | 50 email invitations | Not stated for free plan |
| Trustpilot Starter | £119/mo per domain, billed annually | 100 invitations | 12-month commitment |
| Trustpilot Plus | £289/mo, billed annually upfront | 300 invitations | 12-month commitment |
| Growth Bull Review Builder | £69/mo | 300 texts plus email | None, cancel any month |
| Growth Bull Complete Growth | £129/mo | 300 texts plus email, plus Rank Map, Keyword Tracker Plus and AI Visibility | None, cancel any month |
Upgrading to Complete Growth is where Growth Bull outshines single-purpose tools. No competitor at this price combines automated review requests, a map rank grid, daily keyword tracking and commercial AI visibility tracking in one hub. For less than Trustpilot's Starter plan, you get Google reviews plus proof of what they do for you. Social Posting with AI will also be included free with Complete Growth when it opens, so those new 5-star reviews can turn into thank-you posts on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X and your Google Business Profile automatically.
Can you see whether the reviews are working?
With Growth Bull you can, because the rest of the suite tracks your results on Google Maps, in Google search and in AI answers; Trustpilot doesn't offer rank or AI tracking.
- Rank Map checks 49 points around your business every week and names who holds number one wherever you don't, so you know exactly who you're chasing.
- Keyword Tracker checks your Google rankings every morning from your own town or nationwide, on desktop or mobile, with every result kept forever.
- AI Visibility, Growth Bull's commercial AI visibility tracking, asks ChatGPT, Claude and Google's AI the buying questions customers actually ask ("Who's the best roofer near me?"), from your own town, and shows whether you're recommended, whether your website is cited, and who is recommended instead.
Our guides to the best local rank tracking tools and the best AI visibility tools for local businesses explain how this kind of tracking works.
What about Feefo and Trustist?
Feefo and Trustist are two more review platforms that sit closer to Trustpilot than to Growth Bull, with one twist for Trustist.
Feefo collects reviews on its own verified platform, and can also feed Google Seller Ratings, the star ratings Google can show alongside shopping ads. It does not send reviews to your Google Business Profile. Essentials costs £149 a month (200 email, 50 WhatsApp and 50 SMS requests), and Enhanced costs £299 a month. Feefo is built around ecommerce integrations, and its contract terms are not published.
Trustist sends review links by SMS, email, social and QR code, and reviews can go to Google, Facebook and Trustist's own platform. Starter costs £39 a month on a one-year contract (cheaper on three- and five-year terms), Pro costs £159 and Premium costs £199, with a minimum 12-month contract.
If you like Trustist's entry price, weigh it against a year's commitment and the lack of map, search and AI tracking. Growth Bull runs month to month.
Does Growth Bull follow Google's review rules?
Growth Bull does not use review gating. Review gating means asking customers how happy they are first, then only sending happy ones to leave a public review.
Google does not allow this. Its policy on fake engagement and selective soliciting says businesses should not selectively ask for positive reviews.
Review Builder gives everyone the same Google link, with no star filter. Unhappy customers also get a private feedback link so they can tell you first, but that is an extra option, never a gate. Our review automation tools roundup covers how other tools handle this.
Where Trustpilot is better
Trustpilot is a specialist in online trust badges, and for some businesses that is the priority.
- Recognition at checkout. If you sell online, Trustpilot's stars can reassure a shopper buying from a site they've never used before.
- A free starting plan. Fifty invitations a month at no cost suits a small online seller testing the water.
- Ecommerce integrations. Shopify, Salesforce and Zendesk connections suit stores that run on those tools.
Where Growth Bull is better
Growth Bull is the better fit when your customers find you through Google and Google Maps.
- Review Builder leads the way. Growth Bull's flagship review automation tool puts every review on your Google Business Profile, adding to the star rating shown in the map pack. You see it working every week, and more reviews mean more calls.
- Win-back and private feedback. Ask past customers for reviews a few a day, and give unhappy customers a private feedback link that is never a gate.
- Requests start from paid invoices. Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, FreeAgent, HubSpot and Pipedrive send the request for you, so nobody has to remember.
- Texts as well as email. One text and one email per job, with 300 texts a month included, suits customers who live on their phones.
- Everything in one hub. Complete Growth adds Rank Map, Keyword Tracker Plus and AI Visibility for £129 a month, so you can see what your reviews are doing, with Social Posting with AI included free when it opens.
- AI answers covered, Claude included. Commercial AI visibility tracking shows whether ChatGPT, Claude and Google's AI recommend you, and who they name instead.
- White label for agencies. Agencies run every tool for every client under their own brand, from £225 a month for five clients, and clients who see their reviews climb stay longer.
- No contract. Pay monthly and cancel any month, rather than committing to 12 months.
Which should you choose?
The honest answer depends on where your customers come from.
If you're a roofer, plumber or electrician who gets most jobs from Google Maps, Growth Bull is the better fit. Your Google star rating is what homeowners compare, and automatic texts after each paid invoice mean you never forget to ask.
If you run a salon, clinic or dental practice, the same logic applies. People compare your Google stars before they book, and AI Visibility shows whether assistants recommend you when someone asks.
If you run a national or multi-location brand, Review Builder turns every paid invoice into a Google review request at volume, and the suite tracks every location on Google Maps, in search and in AI answers. Keep Trustpilot as well if online sales lean on its badge. Book a call with Tom to set it up.
If you run an online shop with no local service, Trustpilot makes more sense: a recognised badge, a free plan to start and a Shopify integration.
If you have both a local service and an online shop, use both. Trustpilot for the website, Growth Bull for Google. They don't fight over the same review.
If you want to compare other Google-first tools, look at Growth Bull vs NiceJob for review automation and Growth Bull vs GatherUp for reviews and feedback. Larger, multi-site businesses should read Growth Bull vs Birdeye for enterprise reputation management.

Questions people ask
Do Trustpilot reviews show on my Google Maps listing?
No. Trustpilot collects reviews on its own platform, so they appear on Trustpilot's website rather than on your Google Business Profile. The star rating people see next to your business in Google Maps comes from Google reviews, which is why Growth Bull's Review Builder sends every customer to your Google listing.
Can I use Trustpilot and Growth Bull together?
Yes, and some businesses do. An online shop might keep Trustpilot for its website badge and checkout pages, then use Growth Bull's Review Builder to ask local customers for Google reviews. The two tools send people to different places, so they do not compete for the same review.
Is Trustpilot free?
Trustpilot has a free plan with 50 review invitations a month. Paid plans start at £119 a month per domain billed annually for new small businesses, and Plus costs £289 a month billed annually upfront. Trustpilot's pricing page says all contracts are a 12-month commitment (checked October 2026).
Is Feefo or Trustist better than Trustpilot for a local business?
It depends where you want reviews to live. Feefo collects reviews on its own verified platform, much like Trustpilot. Trustist sends review links for Google, Facebook and its own platform, and starts at £39 a month on a one-year contract. If Google Maps matters most, a Google-first tool like Review Builder is simpler.
Why do more Google reviews mean more calls?
Reviews are how customers choose who to call. The stars and review count next to your name in Google Maps are what people compare, and Google's own guidance lists prominence, including reviews and ratings, as a local ranking factor. Review Builder adds new Google reviews every week, so owners can see it working.
Does Growth Bull filter out bad reviews?
No. Growth Bull sends every customer the same Google review link with no star filter, which keeps you inside Google's rules. Unhappy customers also get a private feedback link so they can tell you first, but it is never a gate in front of Google.
